Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel
The Project
Sura Hotel is located in central Istanbul, and welcomes thousands of tourists and business travellers each year from all over the world. The luxury hotel combines traditional Ottoman architecture with a sleek and modern interior that suits the range of guests. Two hundred and sixty rooms and public spaces in the hotel were refurbished. This involved six different bedroom packages for each of the hotel room types, redesign and refurbishment of the lobby area and large restaurant.
The Design
Furniture supplied for each room included beds, desks, wardrobes, mirrors, headboards and bedside tables. Furniture for standard rooms was a minimalist aesthetic with a black, matt metallic finish. The design of the desks that were fitted to the walls, rather than freestanding, maximised floor space. The black metallic furnishings with coordinated black upholstery was paired with bright, colourful artwork for a vibrant finish. Superior rooms had bespoke floor to ceiling headboards with hotel branding and colours, integrated lighting and opulent fabric finishes to seating and beds for a luxurious feel.
